EcoSpirituality Retreat
"How can we integrate our ecology with our spirituality?"
Come join us for a retreat from 15-18 September to see how. Xavier de Benaze SJ, a French Jesuit, will lead us through a reflective and thoughtful process to explore this question.
Xavier will lead us through four stages during the days:
- Anchoring yourself in gratitude
- Honouring your sorrow for the world
- Changing your outlook
- Moving forward
Each stage is lived through a variety of exercises that combine personal time with group exercises. Our session proposes to live this dynamic by letting it resonate with the Gospel. Personal times of prayer will enable each person to "make the link" between the experience of the Work that Reconnects and the Word of God, which is the foundation of our Christian hope.
The process is called The Work that Reconnects. It is an eco-psychological method developed by Joanna Macy since the 1980s. Its spiral dynamic can be experienced by Christians as an eco-spiritual path rooted in the Gospel.
